You may be looking for some places to go and things to do with your dad this weekend, right? What? You forgot about Father’s Day? No worries, here’s a long list of events to consider when it comes to giving the gift of spending some time with dear old dad.

But that’s not all there is to do this weekend. There is plenty of music, as always, with performances by Kinky Friedman, John Sebastian, Matt “Guitar” Murphy, Cool Jazz by Jade, Jukebox the Ghost (see video above), Bennie Wallace and the Disorder at the Border All-Star Jazz Orchestra, Willie Nelson & Family, Beatlemania, Young@Heart Chorus, Kenny Rogers, Neil Diamond, Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band and Crosby, Stills & Nash.

Theatergoers can search out Tony Award winner Jim Dale, a production of “My Fair Lady,”  a sequel to “The Wizard of Oz,” a staging of “George M,” a reading of “The Dining Room,” “The Year of Magical Thinking,” and “Nunsense: The Megamusical.

Art abounds as well, with a new exhibit, “SameSex,” at City Lights Gallery and “Paper Trail” at the Housatonic Museum of Art. Sculpture Fest 2012 sets down in New Milford and there is a lot of “Horsin’ Around” in Stamford. The Aldrich celebrates some “Secret Art.” And, the Loft Artists Association in Stamford celebrates its members’ works and the talent of the community.

This weekend also sees some of summer’s biggest festivals, including the International Festival of Arts & Ideas in New Haven and the Fairfield County Irish Festival.

Do you want to get into a parade? Check out the Barnum Festival Wing Ding Parade in Beardsley Park.

Whatever it is you do, make sure to save some time to enjoy the weather, too. It’s supposed to be a beautiful weekend.

Until next time ….
